This film is not only for the hard core PJ fans who want to see new never before seen footage of the band, but also serves as well chronicled timeline of rock history from the early rise of grunge in Seattle in the late eighties and early nighties through to a matured and comfortably famous rock and roll machine. This is a special insight for all music lovers as PJ open up and talk about their personal turmoils, relationships with each other and the pressures of stardom. Did I mention the soundtrack is pretty awesome as well?

Available on DVD

Again its great to see more of the talented boutique brewers this great country of ours possesses. Paul Croucher and Nigel Gregory have picked up awards for both their Pale Ale and Pilsner. Full of hoppy flavour, these beers are a symphony to the beer buds, especially after a days mountain biking. If you are in Rotorua, go down to any number of bars and cafes and you will surely come across this famous local brew. Available also online at www.croucherbrewing.co.nz. My fav is the Pale Ale, but I also wouldn’t turn down a cold Pilsner

Contemporary high quality ink prints that provide interesting and witty social commentary around the ideas of identity in Aotearoa. His series of Ngati Pakeha Inks are stunning pieces of work and I couldn’t resist purchasing ‘Queenie’ for my own collection.
Check out Lester’s website www.lesterhall.com to learn more about him and view his works

7th studio album and boy do these guys keep getting better or what?

It is normally about this point in most band careers that some form of creative fatique has set in and more often than not the band has imploded by this point. Fortunately for us the Foo’s take their craft seriously and still know how to turn out definitive rock albums. Wasting Light is a back to basics, in your face rock album that is by far some of their best work, second only to 1997’s The Colour and the Shape. Dont get me wrong, their other albums are good, but this one delivers a consistent arrangement of songs across the board making it memorable as a complete album. Having it recorded in Dave Grohl’s garage on analogue also gives it that rawness of sound without the over engineering.

If anyone has seen this band live, you will know that you certainly get value for money. Wasting Light is worth every cent of your hard earned cash and a must have album for 2011. I can’t wait to hear these songs live the next time we are graced with their presence Downunder.

Until then you can see the entire album performed live from their Studio 606.
